Methodology of the Seminar

The Academic Seminar intends to bring together prestigious academics from Spanish and other European universities to participate in a web-based Seminar, where participation does not require the physical presence of the participants at any given moment and can include contributions from their research groups.

The working language will be exclusively English and the method of the Seminar will be as follows:

A)    Seven academics, in collaboration with their own teams, from different disciplines will participate together with the Sophia-Iberia (SI) team. More participants could be added during the process.

B)     The materials and contributions will be posted in the web-based tool designed by the Sophia-Iberia team: this wiki, with access restricted only to the Seminar participants.

C)    It commences with a first contextualization document presented by the SI team. The responses and dialogues of the participants will be posted on this wiki. (See Introductory Session).

D)    The first session will consist on the debate of the first document; it will conclude by agreeing on the following themes to be dealt with in the Seminar.

E)     The second and subsequent subthemes will be discussed with the same methodology.

F)     Once the discussion on the first document concludes and while the subthemes are being discussed in the restricted access wiki, the SI team will arrange the materials of the first session and will post them on the SI web site (www.upcomillas.es/sophiaiberia) in order to inform the general public and so that other people might participate.

The materials of the Seminar, edited by the SI team, will be published on the SI web site and as a book together with other papers considered to be appropriate.

More detailed instructions are to be found in the following document:     Wiki Instructions.doc
